About
Simplicity, Technology and Sex
I love technology, simplicity, and sex so i decided to build this site because I am convinced that RSS and Podcasting are going to emerge as a new way to collect informations and medias online!
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, a method for allowing Internet users to automatically obtain up-to-date information from their favorite sources.
The age of RSS is just beginning. Apple’s Safari web browser and Firefox put everything you need to browse, search, view RSS feeds and Microsoft Corp.’s next operating system, Longhorn, will have RSS built in.
Special programs called podcatchers or aggregators exist that let users subscribe to podcasts in order to automatically download and store the media files for later playback. The aggregator will download the audio or video file onto the user’s computer automatically each time the Podcast is updated.
Various softwares exist to let you subscribe to RSS website feeds and most of them are free. You can also get free podcasting and vlogging programs like iTunes or Juice.
No more SPAM
It is estimated that 70% of the email travelling on the net at any one time is SPAM.
Say goodbye to email and SPAM, we are now in a new era where you don’t even need to open a browser and search.
Thanks to RSS and Podcasting, YOU choose to subscribe or unsubscribe to the information you like.
No more privacy issues with giving out your email address.
RSS avoids this SPAM problem because unlike email it is not “sent”. Rather it is the news reader which goes and collects the news feed and video/audio media files. This means that you have complete control!
Users have to request a feed (subscribe) before starting receiving it and can cancel it at any time.
More Content, Faster
Subscribing to Podcasts, Vidcasts and RSS feeds automates the downloading process and it allows you to collect informations and media files from a variety of sources for listening or viewing at YOUR convenience. Any digital audio or video player like Apple’s iPod or any computer (PC and Mac) can play podcasts and vidcasts.
You can tell your Podcast aggregator to check your chosen subscriptions every day at a specific time and tell it to send the downloaded audio or video files to your portable player.
You don’t have to manually check your favorite websites to download new files. With Podcasts and RSS feeds people set their aggregators to download these files and when they’re ready to go they can take it with them.
Users no longer have to remember their favorite websites and check back (for updates that may or may not exist) on a regular basis to see if anything has changed.
RSS news readers (aggregators) deliver updates and download the podcasts of your choice direct to your computer or portable device. Scan all the latest news, information, articles audio and video files from thousands of websites in one simple-to-read, searchable list delivered right to you. You stay on top of your favorite interests without feeling like you’re ever missing out. It becomes less likely that you’ll miss something truly interesting or important.
It requires far less time to scan the contents of all you vaforite feeds than to individually visit and scan the same number of Web sites. Check your feed reader for an overview of everything new on your favorite sites, and zip straight to the items that interest you most.
RSS Web feeds are low-bandwidth and download very quickly, allowing users on slow connections to quickly check the content of dozens of sites in seconds rather than hours.
